Choosing a maid of honor and/or bridesmaids can be a tough decision for some but for me, it came extremely easy. Jamie and I knew early on that we wanted to keep our bridal party small, so I didn’t have to think twice when it came to choosing my bridal party of two (my younger twin sisters). While they knew pretty much as soon as Jamie and I got engaged that they were both going to be my maids of honor, I wanted to ask them in a more official capacity and I figured what better way to do so than with custom will you be my maid of honor gift boxes. It feels as though I have been planning this post and these boxes since getting engaged. I truly can’t contain my excitement that today is finally the day that I get to share this little project that I poured my heart into for my sisters who truly mean the world to me. Of course, they’ve already received their boxes and have formally accepted my invitation, otherwise, how awkward would this post be!? Haha! I hope that these boxes fill you with inspiration and give you a few ideas for creating a gift box of your own, whatever the occasion. Keep reading to see how I put these boxes together with help from a few incredible people and small businesses.

1. Wooden sliding boxes with custom calligraphy by Magz Kan: When designing these boxes, I knew that I wanted the vessel that held the gifts to be just as beautiful as the gifts themselves. I immediately texted my girlfriend Magz who is an extremely talented illustrator and calligrapher (she’s actually really great at just about everything). I explained to Magz that I envisioned “Will you be my maid of honor” written on the boxes in white and she took it from there, hand painting this beautiful script and subtle branch illustration on the wooden slide boxes.
2. Chateau de L’Orangeraie Rosé: Because asking someone to be your maid of honor is a celebration I knew that I had to include some sort of celebratory beverage inside these boxes. Of course, Champagne is a natural choice, but the summer is fast approaching and I thought a bottle of rosé would be an ideal option. There are so many gorgeous bottles of rosé available, but I found this one by L’Orangeraie stood out amongst the rest. I’ve also personally enjoyed this wine in the past and thought my sisters would too.
3. By Catalfo Dusty Rose Lace Trim Bridesmaid Robe: Bridesmaid/Maid of Honor robes are in my opinion, an essential part of getting ready the morning before the wedding. When Sarah Catalfo of By Catalfo reached out to me and offered to send myself and my bridesmaid’s robes for the big day I was, as you can image, very quick to accept her offer. By Catalfo makes the most beautiful custom lace and satin robes and the dusty rose color with white lace trim will be the perfect addition to what I expect to be the most incredible “before the big moment” morning. I also received the short white lace version which I think compliments my sisters robes perfectly. I can’t wait to see us all in our robes the morning of my wedding!
4. Bluboho Gold Tripod Earrings: Bluboho holds a very special place in my heart. Jamie designed my ring in partnership with boutique jewelry shop and I found it only fitting to include a small piece of jewelry inside these gift boxes for my sisters. For my Maids of Honor, I chose the gold tripod studs which represent the past, present and future. While this sentiment is very fitting in and of itself, I also loved that the tripod could represent the three of us as sisters. These tiny gold stud earrings are a classic and very special gift that my sisters can hold onto forever and hopefully also wear the day of my wedding.
5. Vo Bath & Co. Bloom Lotion Body Scrub: The gift of pampering should be included in any gift box as it shows that you want the person you are gifting the box to that you want them to treat themselves and relax. I just love this pretty in pink scrub from Vo Bath & Co., a local Toronto apothecary company. This scrub smells like the most wonderful mix of peonies and roses and the pastel pink color matched perfectly with the gift box’s theme.
6. Cambridge Avenue Designs Personalized Gold Flutes: To go along with the celebratory theme and of course, the rosé, it seemed necessary to include customized champagne flutes. I love that these flutes add a personal touch to these gift boxes and while I opted for the gold flutes, I like that there are other color options like rose gold and white. I also received a champagne flute with the word “bride” on it and I can’t wait to drink mimosas from our glasses (while wearing our robes) the morning of my wedding day.
7. Garden inspired flower bouquet: Flowers are non-optional for any celebration, and for these boxes, I wanted to include a special bouquet for my sisters that they could enjoy before receiving their maid of honor bouquets on my wedding day. I made these garden inspired bouquets myself using peonies, eucalyptus, orange blossoms and spray roses, but might I suggest Blush and Bloom if you’re looking to have an arrangement created for a gift box or for any occasion.
