Yellow isn’t a colour that I wear often, but it is a colour that holds a special place in my relationship with Jamie. When we were in high school, I was having a really rough couple of weeks, I won’t go in to details but let’s just say it was pretty bad. I distinctly remember one night I was in my bed and Jamie came over to visit me and waltzed in my room carrying a big American Apparel bag. He had me open the bag up and inside was one of the classic zip up sweaters with the white strings in a bright yellow colour. Yellow to him was the ultimate cheery colour and so he bought me the sweater because he wanted to cheer me up. Ever since gifting me the sweater, Jamie has called me his “lellow” and even had “forever my lellow” engraved on the inside of my engagement ring. As soon as I put this blouse with yellow embroidery, and any time I put on the colour yellow, I immediately think of our little story and how in that moment I became Jamie’s lellow forever.
