Happy Monday friends! How was everyone’s weekend? My sisters and I spent Saturday night watching Now and Then which is a tradition we share around this time each year. In the movie, they eat “black cows” aka Coca-Cola floats, so we always pause the movie when that scene happens and make them for ourselves. I’m actually thinking of doing a summer blog post this year where I share the best food to eat with classic movies because it is one of my favourite things to do, haha!
On another note, I’ve somehow found myself obsessed with the American Idol reboot, so Sunday evening was spent cheering on my fave idol, Cade Foehner. I just love his modern rock and roll vibe and let’s just say he’s pretty easy on the eyes, haha! I was so happy to see him get through but so sad that Ada Vox went home as I think her voice is incredible and she should have been a finalist.
Anyway, onto this outfit! Spring is finally here so before I get into wearing mostly dresses (which let’s face it, will be soon) I wanted to share a casual spring jeans and t outfit. These button front cropped jeans are one of my favourite purchases of the season. I tracked them down at Yorkdale mall after seeing them sold out online (of course, my size is back now), Eaton Centre and Bloor street. They’re SO comfy and have a good stretch to them but I’d definitely recommend sizing down if you decide to buy them as they’re a little big. I also really love this t-shirt from Banana Republic. It’s a merino wool sweater like material so it’s nice for now when it’s still a little cool, and it is as soft as can be. Finally, my most beloved part of this outfit are these raffia mules. I’d been keeping my eye on them for over 2 months going back and forth on whether I needed them. I clearly pulled the trigger on them and couldn’t be happier. They’re comfy and add such great texture to any outfit. Plus, I think they’ll look just as cool with a summer dress or skirt as they do with jeans. I’m a firm believer that if you’re stuck thinking about a buy for a long period and can’t stop thinking about whatever the item is then it is meant to be.
