It’s not often that I gravitate towards dresses that are both short and colourful. The last one I can think of was here, which I also incidentally paired with the same pair of heels and clutch. I feel like there’s a lot going on in this dress that could make it not work (short hem line, off the shoulder sleeves, smocked detailing a burst of print) but somehow Free People managed to keep it from crossing the “it’s too much” line. It fits snug in all of the right places and flows out exactly like it should which makes the look feel feminine yet boho, sweet yet sexy. This dress is pretty much perfect for those really hot days of walking around the city, or evenings where you want to eat, drink and dance the night away without feeling constricted by your outfit.
