When we visited High Park a couple of weeks ago to see the cherry blossoms, I made it a point to scope out any good looking buds that were on the ground to use for a cherry blossom inspired cocktail. I’m not about cutting the branches off of the trees, so don’t worry, I cleaned these flowers before putting them on top of this cocktail, haha! While this cocktail didn’t exactly turn out how I had intended (I couldn’t find cherry blossom liquer) I did manage to evoke the feeling of cherry blossoms by using freshly squeezed grapefruit juice and floral liqueurs like Lillet Blanc and St. Germaine. This is the perfect drink for summer, especially because it also includes rosé, it also happens to be my 4 years blog anniversary, so cheers to that!
- 3 oz. rosé wine
- 1 1/2 oz. gin
- 3/4 oz. Lillet Blanc
- 1/2 oz. St. Germaine
- 3 oz. ruby-red grapefruit juice
- Add ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice, shake for 15 seconds, strain and serve in a coupe glass. Top with fresh flowers or grapefruit wedge if desired.
