It may come as no surprise to those of you who know and follow Gal Meets Glam, that I am a huge fan of Julia Engel. She’s such an inspiring blogger, entrepreneur and woman, and I have found so much inspiration through her blog in the years I’ve been following her. When Julia launched her Gal Meets Glam collection last year, I was so excited to order something from the collection. I love the line, especially for the dresses, which are both modern yet classic, feminine, and oh so elegant. I go into sensory overload each month when a new collection is released and have yet to see a piece I don’t love. However, one thing that tends to make shopping the GMG Collection dresses a little more difficult is that I live in Canada. After the conversion, tax, duties and shipping, a GMG order ends up becoming quite expensive which makes me less likely to order a piece directly from the website.
Luckily, I’ve recently stumbled upon Adorn Boutique. Adorn is a Canadian retailer that offers a beautiful assortment of Gal Meets Glam dresses! If you shop the GMG collection on the Adorn Boutique website, the prices are already converted to the Canadian dollar, there are no duties and shipping is free over $150, yay! Adorn has been my go-to shop to buy Gal Meets Glam since discovering that this was the most cost-efficient way to order the pieces.
The dress I’m wearing here is the Aurora. I just love the maxi length, long sleeves with bow tie and button details in the front. The tiny floral print is also adorable and the peachy pink colour is so sweet for summer (it also comes in the prettiest blue colour too!). If you follow Julia, then you’ll know that this is the dress she wore when she announced her pregnancy. I knew that because she wore it with her tiny bump at the time that it would be a flattering dress for myself as I still have a little postpartum tummy. My suspicions were correct and I felt so confident and feminine when I wore this dress for a day out in Toronto recently. The dress highlighted the smallest part of my waist and skimmed my mid-section and the deep V really helped to create a long, lean shape for my body which I appreciated.
Aside from the Gal Meets Glam Aurora dress, I’m a huge fan of the floral Cassie dress (ideal for summertime patio hangs) and the vintage inspired Virginia fit-and-flare dress that I think would be perfect for weddings this season. Adorn also offers some beautiful dresses from other brands I love like Emma Knudsen, Cupcakes & Cashmere, Faithful and SO much more.
