Admittedly, it’s been a while since I’ve shared my monthly beauty faves. The reason for this, which I think I mentioned in my last beauty faves post, is that I realized that I’m just not the type of person who tries out new beauty products all the time. Therefore, I found it difficult to come up with fresh a post each month sharing products that I truly love. However, it’s been a few months since my last MBF and I now have a whole bunch of amazing, new-to-me finds that I’ve been obsessed with as of late. So without further adieu, here are the products I’m using and loving lately. The Ordinary Serums: If you haven’t heard of The Ordinary by this point, I’d be a little surprised. This brand by Deciem has BLOWN up in the last few months for their affordable serums (none of these are more than $15) that work incredibly well. Honestly, I was skeptical about trying any of these serums at first, but after my sister purchased a few back in February and I tried a few of hers, I ended up buying a whole range for myself. In the morning I use the Niacinamide + zinc for acne control, followed by the Hyaluronic acid + b5 (although I’ve switched my hyaluronic acid to La Roche Posay’s Hyalu B5 in the last couple of weeks) and in the evening I use the Lactic Acid (either 5% or 10%) followed by the buffet and hyaluronic acid. I’ve noticed a HUGE difference in the texture and all around glow of my skin and I couldn’t recommend these serums enough.
EB Florals Tuberose Perfume: I would definitely consider myself a perfume girl. I absolutely love trying out new scents and I always find myself reaching a perfume based on what event I’m attending, my mood or what memories I want to evoke when I’m wearing it. I’d been intrigued by EB Florals as, Eric Buterbaugh is a florist who recently stepped out into the world of perfuming and created a line of scents that are all inspired by flowers, respectively. I had such a hard time choosing which fragrance I wanted because they all smell incredible but was going back and forth between the Celestial Jasmine and Regal Tuberose for hours, haha! I ended up settling on the Regal Tuberose as I have nothing like it in my collection. I find that this scent smells mysterious and sexy yet still has that light floral, feminine feel that I love so much. The top notes are grapefruit, white pepper & papyrus accord. Heart notes are patchouli leaves, tuberose absolute and jasmine sambac petals. And the base notes are amber wood, oak moss and captive moss.Kristin Ess Style Assist Blow Dry Mist & Shine Leave-In Conditioner: I think I’ve mentioned before that I have the worlds most tangly hair. It seems like no matter what I do, my hair wants to stick together and tangles 10 seconds after I brush it and don’t event get me started on trying to comb it through when it is wet. I desperately needed a leave in conditioner in my hair care arsenal and so the last time I was in Target I headed directly to the Kristen Ess section to see what I could find. I picked up both the leave in conditioner and the blow dry mist and have been using them both for a couple of months now. Both of these products smell amazing and work extremely well to combat my tangles, add shine and help cut styling time by at-least a few minutes. I definitely wouldn’t say my tangly hair issues are solved, but these products sure do help and look beautiful on my counter.
Lanolips Golden Dry Skin Salve & 101 Ointment: Besides the obviously adorable packaging, Lano has become my new go-to lip and dry spot saviour. I use Lanolips 101 ointment on my lips multiple times a day and it just really seals in moisture and keeps my lips feeling soft and smooth. It’s also the perfect base for applying lipstick. Lano can also be used on any dry patches and on cuticles which is another way I like to use both products.
