First of all, thank you from the bottom of my heart to each one of you who read my post yesterday. I know that I have talked about dealing with feelings of anxiety and depression before but putting those words out there can sometimes be difficult for fear of being judged. However, what I have learned is that there is so much beauty in vulnerability. Being vulnerable doesn’t mean that I am weak, it means that I am strong because I have the courage to put myself out there and ask for help and understanding. Not one single person judged me yesterday, in fact so many of you reached out in different ways to either let me know that you are there if I need to talk or that you can relate to the same feelings. Yesterday was one of the busier days that I’ve had in a long time. I was nervous about posting about my struggles and then having to head out to see a bunch of people in my industry. However, I was blown away by how many of the women I see at events and work with on a regular basis came up to me told me that they read my post and told me that they deal too with the same feelings often. While of course I don’t feel happy that so many people struggle with mental health issues it does make me feel like I am not alone and that I can share without fear of being judged. Mental health is a conversation that needs to keep going so if any of you want to talk, I am here.
On a lighter note, Jamie and I are heading to Muskoka on Monday for a little staycation at the JW Marriott Muskoka and I am SO excited to get away from the city for a little while. Though we will be working hard to create great content for you guys I am looking forward to just being with him and celebrating being newly engaged alone together for the first time since Jamie popped the question. I hope you all have a great weekend, if you happen to be in the GTA I highly suggest checking out the 1st annual Toronto Light Fest. It’s such a cool outdoor art exhibition and it’s free!
