My girlfriend Amanda (who you may recognize from the blog Pink the Town) and I have been wanting to collaborate together for ages, but with our hectic schedules our plans never seemed to pan out. So when Amanda, who is just the sweetest pink loving girl there ever was, reached out to me once again with an idea to throw little Galentine’s day (gal + Valentine’s Day) party I couldn’t pass up the chance…I also just really wanted to hang out at her gorgeous new, light filled home, eat macarons and drink champagne.
When I arrived at Amanda’s house on a Sunday afternoon she had already taken care of most of the table set up. We both added some finishing touches like a custom pink balloon wall, flower “cupcakes” with conversation heart place cards and laid the a stunning floral centrepiece from Flower Maiden Florals on the table. After everything was set up we popped open the pink champagne and treated ourselves to a ton of macarons (thanks AG Macarons!).
Creating a tablescape for any party my seem intimidating at first but I promise you that if you take things step by step it will be a breeze. It all starts with the little things like choosing a general theme (in our case it was hearts and shades of pink) and sticking to it, making sure that everything is consistent yet not too matchy-matchy. What really made our set up stand out was the stunning wood farm table that added a beautiful rustic element and kept everything from looking too forced. We also added a few touches of gold with our flatware and place mats and used linen napkins to tie the rustic meets feminine vibe together. The flowers were a mixture of breeds (Carnations, Chrysanthemums, Gerbera Daisies) and colours and in my opinion made the entire table come together and made it feel so bright and alive. Of course you can’t forget the macarons, pink champagne and conversation heart candies…it is Galentine’s Day after all and us ladies love our treats!
