First Signs Of Fall

September 25, 2017

Happy Monday Friends! How was your weekend? Over here in Toronto it was the hottest weekend on record which is pretty funny considering it was also the first weekend of fall. As I had mentioned on Friday, Jamie and I took a 3-day trip to Prince Edward County and to say it was hot is an understatement. The number one reason we went on our trip was to shoot content for upcoming posts but our short little trip ended up being so much fun and exactly what the doctor ordered. Sometimes it is so nice to be able to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and at-home chores, and simply just spend time together. While we certainly missed Milo, it was even nice to take a break from dog duties for the first time in a long time. On the last day of our trip, we spent the morning at the Kinsip House of Fine Spirits trying their small batch distills, bitters and whiskey barrel aged maple syrup (YUM!). We also spent some time on their homestead swinging on their wooden swing and chasing ducks around their yard. The owners of the property were so kind and welcoming, allowing us to hang out for as long as we’d like. If you’re ever in PEC, I’d definitely recommend taking a stopover to Kinsip. Anyway, on to the outfit! Like I said, it was almost 40 degrees outside on Saturday, but I have been dying to shoot some fall outfits. I decided to brave the heat for a little while and swap out my ballet flats and hatless hair for a pair of thigh high boots and a beret. Honestly, it was only for these photos but I feel like I need to start sharing some fall outfit inspiration since we’re now almost into October! I bought this beret back in the beginning of September at Joe Fresh. I’d been seeing berets everywhere and figured if I ended up disliking the trend on myself that I wouldn’t be out much since it cost around $20. I paired my Parisian inspired look with a little black fit-and-flare skirt from Ever New which I love because it will go with so many things I already own. I also wore this bell sleeve gingham top that can be tied in either the front or back and to add some colour, I topped the looked with a dusty pink waterfall trench. This whole outfit felt quintessentially fall and I can’t wait to re-wear it as soon as the weather cools down.
