There are a lot of things that I love about the fall but out of everything, fall fashion and layering, in particular, is at the top of my list. This fall, I’ve found myself shopping at Gap, Banana Republic, and Old Navy so much more than I ever have as I’ve found I’m having an easy time mixing and matching the brand’s pieces and being able to layer effortlessly with all 3 brands. I stumbled on this midi length dress at Old Navy recently and scooped it up in no time flat. I’d actually been looking for a dress just like this but all the options I was finding were simply out of my budget (I’m looking at you, Ulla Johnson). When I spotted this one it checked all of my boxes and then some (mid-length, dark colour, long sleeves, floral pattern) and most impressively, it was under $50. It also looked so cute layered under this long cardigan from The Gap on this particularly crisp fall afternoon. Another style detail I have been loving this season is woven bags. A woven bag can bring so much texture into an outfit and this Isla tote from Sea & Grass does just that plus holds so much inside which is amazing during the colder months when I feel like I’m forever needing to lug stuff around.
