Today I am 29…what the what!? It is the last official year of my twenties starting today and I truly can’t believe all of the monumental moments that have happened these past 9 years. I’m sure on my 30th birthday I’ll write a big long post about my twenties, but for today, I’m going to keep it short and sweet. 28 was definitely my most transformative year thus far. I feel like I completely lost myself after becoming a first-time mom, but then found myself again in a whole new and better way. I feel stronger (yet somehow more emotional), prouder and have so much more gratitude for the people who are in my life as opposed to material goods and things that used to be a huge priority to me. I know I still have a lot of learning and growing to do but 28 was absolutely a step in the right direction and I’m so excited to see where 29 takes me. After all, there’s another tiny human coming along soon and I have a feeling things are going to change drastically again.
This morning, I slept in until 9, Jamie made me delicious blueberry pancakes and freshly squeezed OJ as well as wrote sweet sentiments all over our windows. It was the sweetest surprise to wake up to and Edwin took my hand to bring me over to all of the window decorations. We’re heading to a family dinner tonight and I think I’m just going to chill for the remainder of the day, do my hair, and put on a pretty dress…even though I think it is going to rain!
The dress I’m wearing here is another beautiful piece by the lovely, Emma Knudsen. I’d been looking for an excuse to dress it up since receiving it and last night was the perfect occasion as it was my father in laws birthday. I love that this dress is bump friendly but can’t wait to wear it next spring/summer sans bump and with sneakers or sandals too!
