Pulling your hair up during the warm months is sometimes a necessity, and while a ponytail is the easiest (and probably everyone's go-to hairstyle) for those occasions, braids are a great, not to mention chic, alternative. While a crown braid may sound and look intimidating, this low-maintenance style is perfect for hot summer days and it's not as difficult to achieve as you may think. Trust me, you'll be surprised to learn how you can master the crown braid with this simple tutorial, just follow these eight easy steps.

Step 1
Begin by parting your hair in the middle and dividing it into two sections.
Step 2
Take one section and braid it all along the side to the end, starting with a French braid and ending with a regular braid.
Step 3
Take the other half and braid it all the way to the end just like you did with the other side.
Step 4
Gently pull out the braid to loosen it up and create a fuller look.
Step 5
Cross the braids over to their opposite side.
Step 6
Using a bobby pin or two, secure each braid where they meet with the other braid.
Step 7
Repeat on the other side.
Step 8
Finish it off with hairspray to prolong the look. I particularly love and highly recommend this one as it does not leave that awful crunchy texture on your hair.
Once you have sprayed your hair, you're all set with your super chic, boho-looking braided crown!
