As anyone who follows my blog or my Instagram knows, last Monday Jamie and I finally took the plunge and adopted a puppy! Although we had been talking about adopting, and looking or quite a while, nothing ever felt as right as it did last Monday when we saw Milo (formally Phil) at the Toronto Humane Society. It was around an hour before the shelter closed that Jamie asked if I wanted to “go have a look” at the dogs as they were having a full house sale and he had seen on Facebook that there were a couple of puppies who needed some love. Needless to say, everything happened very quickly after Milo stole our hearts, and it has been a ride ever since! If you were wondering, Milo comes all the way from an animal shelter in St. Maarten that was closing down. He and some other dogs from the shelter were saved by the lovely people over at the THS, and we couldn’t be more blessed! The best anyone can guess is that Milo is an American Fox Hound mixed with a Pot Cake, a Caribbean street dog named after the food that they eat. Jamie and I have been so busy with trying to train little Milo this last week that everything else seems to have been put on hold. Although I must say i am getting so much exercise from walking and running Milo which is so awesome! Last week we took Milo to the beaches and had him in the water for the first time. It was so much fun that I had to share it with you all! If you have any other questions or comments about our little Milo please feel free to ask me in the comment section!
The Blondielocks Breezer
May 14, 2014Since this week I am celebrating one year of The Blondielocks, I thought it only appropriate to come up with a little celebratory drink named after my blog. I used ingredients that were mostly already in our house, making this cocktail one that is easily accessible and easy to make! I can totally see it as the perfect spring/summer patio drink to share with friends over a barbecue. It sort of reminded me of the Bacardi Pineapple Breezers but with that extra hint of citrus and peach! So refreshing and delicious you may just have to have more than 1!
Ingredients:
1oz Limóncello
1oz Peach Schnapps
½ juice of 1 lime
¼ juice of 1 lemon
Pineapple Juice
Ginger Ale
Pineapple Slice
How to Make:
1. Add all ingredients except ginger ale into a shaker with ice
