Reflecting back on a week that has both been difficult to go through and yet somehow managed to bring so much joy by celebrating the life of a very special man made me reflect on why I started this series in the first place. I still remember my very first Highs and Lows post where I explained how in the movie The Story of Us, The family would sit around their table every evening during dinner and share their high of the day and their low. Going off of that I realized how important it is to take time to reflect (not dwell) on each and everyday, as every moment slowly but surly will make up what we call a life. This week was spent taking time to reflect on one special man who made me realize that when someone lives with such a zest for life and for adventure, to celebrate that life will bring so much more solace, knowing it was never taken for granted. By looking at hundreds of pictures, telling and listening to stories and reading sympathy cards, it has really brought to me such an understanding of how important it is to live every day with an open mind and an open heart. It is so very important to tell the people in your life that you love them and always stand by their side when they are in a time of need. On that note I will be back in Toronto with a very packed weekend and week ahead of me, open to new possibilities and a lot of thanks for the opportunities that I have been given. Have a great weekend everyone, see you Monday.
